Since the gold mining days of the 1800’s, the people of the North East have been thinking up new ways to party! Today, the region boasts some of Australia’s great wine, food and cultural festivals.

Tastes of Rutherglen
Every year the wineries and restaurants of the region get together with some of Australia's best musicians to present this fabulous food and wine festival. If you like great wine, great food, great music and a lot of fun, then don't miss it!

Winery Walkabout
Rutherglen will once again be the place to be on the June long weekend for the annual Rutherglen Winery Walkabout. From the beginnings in 1974 when the Winemakers' of North East Victoria joined forces to promote their quality wines, the festival has grown in size and stature. Rutherglen Winery Walkabout now attracts over 20,000 visitors and boasts three Tourism Awards including "Best Festival in Victoria" and was also named "Best Festival in Australia".

Rutherglen Wine Show
Join in the celebrations at Australia’s 2nd largest wine show. Test your wine tasting skills against expert judges and sample some of the best wines from Australia’s top wine growing regions. Once again the Rutherglen Wine Show will showcase a strong field of contenders, both the number of exhibitors and number of entries has increased. Chris Pfeiffer and his judging panel are looking forward to the challenge of adjudicating the wines. Running from September 20 to 28, the public are invited to participate in the Public Tasting, Rutherglen Winemakers' Gourmet Dinner and the Wine Show Seminar.

Tour de Rutherglen
Ride, wine and dine on a guided cycle tour through the majestic old vineyards and wineries of the Rutherglen Wine Region. The focus of the year’s event will be on some of those more intriguing, unique wines (and Winemakers!) found in the region. Be part of the team as we swirl a Gamay, sniff an Apero and sip a Biancone!

Rutherglen Young Bloods and Bloody Legends Weekend
Enjoy a fresh Rutherglen experience. Two days of wine, food and frivolity hosted by the Young Bloods of Rutherglen, a passionate group of winemakers and marketers who have wine in their blood. In a weekend not to missed, the Young Bloods will host a Wine Tasting Adventure, Twilight Dinner in the Vineyard and the popular Rutherglen Picnic.

Save yourself the worry of being that little bit over and let someone else do the driving for you. Rolls Royces, stretch limos, mini buses, taxis and air conditioned coaches - there's something to suit all.

You can tour around the wineries, get chauffeured to a great spot on the river with a picnic hamper and bottle of wine, or discover some of the region's secrets. Your host can arrange to have a luxury vehicle pick you up and return you to the door. Just enquire at time of booking.
